Semiconductor Fabrication Processes I Overview
Learners will learn about the evolution of semiconductor industry, how sand is transformed into microchips, essential for today鈥檚 automated and digital world, patterning a circuit design on wafer using lithography technique.
As part of this training, learners also complete approximately 4.5 hours in an actual cleanroom setting, completing photolithography and etching process on a patterned wafer, followed by characterization.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this microcredential, learners will be able to:
- Explain how the sand transforms to silicon.
- Describe the steps of silicon wafer cleaning.
- Explain CMOS fabrication process flow.
- Patterning a wafer with circuit design using photolithography process
- Explain the need for etching process and apply the technique on the patterned wafer.
- Work in a cleanroom environment with Personal Protective Equipment.
