Ohio Backpacking Trip

Description: Considering a convient weekend trip within Ohio? Come join the Adventure Center on an overnight backpacking trip through Wayne National Forest in some nice fall weather. Hiking is moderately easy with no single drop (or climb) over 250 feet. The area is quiet with little noise intrusion onto the trail. There are multiple pine plantings, spring wildflowers are plentiful and there appears to be a healthy variety of wildlife. Deer and raccoon were spotted along with a numerous species of birds such as scarlet tanagers, vultures (inside the schoolhouse) and the always elusive crow. We will be backpacking for3 days with 35 or more pounds of gear on our backs and spending 2 nights camping in the woods. Get ready for some fun! The fee includes transportation, equipment, meals, and instruction. Contact adventurecenter@kent.edu with any questions. Pre-registration IS REQUIRED: Difficulty: Level 2. Some hiking experience preferred; moderate physical exertion.
