Provide credible evidence that the proposed activity addresses a commercialization need or is likely to advance a commercialization opportunity. Applicants may submit one or more of the following:
Participation in a regional, NSF, NIH, DOE, or other I-Corps program
A recommendation or endorsement from an I-Corps instructor, mentor, entrepreneurial lead, or other external commercialization advisor
Participation in a recognized accelerator, incubator, startup bootcamp, or venture development program
Customer discovery findings or documented market validation
Industry feedback or an expression of interest from a prospective licensee, partner, customer, sponsor, investor, or economic development organization
A market assessment, competitive analysis, regulatory assessment, or commercialization feasibility study
Prior proof-of-concept, translational research, SBIR/STTR, gap, or other commercialization-related funding
Evidence of active licensing discussions, startup development, regulatory planning, or other commercialization activity
Other information demonstrating commercial interest, opportunity, readiness, or a clearly defined need
