All this week, "In A Flash" will feature images from the Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University group's trip to Rwanda.
Members of the Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ delegation attending , a global peace conference in Kigali, Rwanda, were treated to a soaring show by this mother with her baby from a group of local velvet monkeys. Velvet monkeys are common throughout East Africa and live in rural and urban environments.
The conference is sponsored by Á½ÐÔÉ«Îçҹ’s School of Peace and Conflict Studies, Á½ÐÔÉ«Îçҹ’s Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education, the and the , a non-profit organization dedicated to ending genocide and other global atrocities.
Bringing together peace and conflict experts and educators from around the world, the conference is another building block in Á½ÐÔÉ«Îçҹ’s growing relationship with the University of Rwanda. In May 2022, Á½ÐÔÉ«Îçҹ’s Board of Trustees approved Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ opening a base of operations at the University of Rwanda for creating collaborative educational exchanges and to serve as a base of operations for Á½ÐÔÉ«Îçҹ’s recruitment throughout Africa.
