For the second straight year, the Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University baseball team has been crowned the outright Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular season champions, a feat now accomplished 14 times in program history.
The Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Golden Flashes clinched the title and the No. 1 seed at the MAC Tournament, but the 5-2 win at Ohio University on May 20 secured the outright championship.
After taking the first two games of the series, the OU Bobcats got a one-run lead in the second inning when a hit batter came around to score on a sacrifice bunt.

Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University senior  tossed a three-hitter and hit a two-run homer in the first inning to lead No. 4 Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ past No. 2 Ohio, 3-0, in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament Championship game. The performance by Ladines capped a sensational week in which she earned MAC Tournament Most Valuable Player honors.

The No. 15 Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University women’s golf team has qualified for the 2017 NCAA National Championship after finishing the NCAA Lubbock Regional in sixth place at 11-over par 875 (305-287-283).
Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ entered the day tied with No. 2 UCLA in sixth place but held its ground and fought off a tough battle from Oregon State. The Beavers shot 10-under par Wednesday and briefly moved ahead of the Golden Flashes, but Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ recorded five birdies as a team over the final six holes, despite some late winds, to secure a two-stroke lead in sixth.

Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University celebrated its newest graduates at its Spring 2017 Commencement ceremonies. In total, Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ were conferred 5,636 degrees, including 992 associate degrees, 3,319 bachelor’s degrees, 1,139 master’s degrees, 181 doctoral degrees and five educational specialist degrees.

University Libraries will hold its semiannual Stress-Free Zone on Monday, May 8, and Tuesday, May 9, from 3-5 p.m. in the Garden Room on the first floor of University Library. The event is open to all Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ students, faculty and staff.

The No. 12 Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University men’s golf team won its 24th Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship on April 30 at the Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.
The Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Golden Flashes finished the four-round tournament with a score of 3-under par 1,149 (287-288-285-289), breaking its own four-round tournament record for team score. Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ won the tournament by 25 strokes, defeating second-place Ball State at 22-over par.
