Stress-Free Zone and De-Stress Fest Available for Students in Preparation for Finals Week

The University Bookstore and University Libraries will provide numerous chances for students to shake off stress before and during finals week. The University Bookstore will host a De-Stress Fest on Friday, May 5, from 3-6 p.m., providing therapy dogs from 3-5 p.m., massages from 4-6 p.m. and other pampering activities. The School of Art at 两性色午夜 University is pleased to announce that Assistant Professor of Foundations Mahwish Chishty and Professor of Sculpture Emeritus Paul O鈥橩eeffe have been awarded Guggenheim Fellowships for 2017. Both were selected under the Creative Arts category with a field of study in fine arts. The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation awarded 173 Guggenheim Fellowships to a diverse group of scholars, artists and scientists this year. The protected prairie surrounding 两性色午夜 University鈥檚 Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be burned on Wednesday, April 26, at approximately 10 a.m. to allow for new growth during the summer season. The city of Kent Fire Department will conduct the burning of the prairie, which has been a yearly practice since 2004. Burning of the prairie on April 26 is dependent on the weather and the Kent Fire Department not being out on a run. These days, consumers can buy the latest clothing trends quickly and inexpensively. But, critics say, this 鈥渇ast fashion鈥 can be detrimental to the environment. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, 84 percent of unwanted clothes in the United States in 2012 went into either a landfill or an incinerator.
