The Bicycle Friendly University award is presented to colleges and universities for their efforts toward making campuses safe and accessible for bicyclists. Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ joins 164 bicycle-friendly universities in 44 states and Washington, D.C. Terry Schwarz is the director of Á½ÐÔÉ«Îçҹ’s Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative (CUDC) which is the outreach arm of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. Terry’s work at the CUDC includes neighborhood and campus planning, commercial and residential design guidelines, and ecological strategies for vacant land reuse. Terry launched the CUDC’s Shrinking Cities Institute in 2005 in an effort to understand and address the implications of population decline and large-scale urban vacancy in Northeast Ohio.
