Flu Shot Clinics Still Available

Employees enrolled in one of the university-sponsored group health plans through Medical Mutual or Anthem are eligible for a free flu shot. You must bring your insurance ID card with you to the clinic. If you are not covered by one of the university’s group health plans, you can still participate for $30 (check payable to ��ɫ��ҹ University).

The following clinics are available. Registration is required.

To streamline the process, please download your and Flu Vaccine Insurance Billing form from the Benefits and Wellness website at www.kent.edu/hr/benefits/flu-shot-clinics prior to your appointment.

The flu shot clinics are open to all ��ɫ��ҹ students, faculty, staff and dependents. For questions regarding the flu vaccine clinics, contact University Health Services at 330-672-2322.

Let’s Clear the Air

The air will become a little clearer on ��ɫ��ҹ University campuses come July 1, 2017. That is when ��ɫ��ҹ will become a smoke-free, tobacco-free university. At its meeting in May, the ��ɫ��ҹ Board of Trustees approved university policy 3345-5-21, which aligns with the university-level initiative to create a healthy campus environment for all employees, students and visitors.

��ɫ��ҹ Assistant Chief of Police Bill Buckbee talks with students at the first-ever Coffee With a Cop event in the Nest.

The ��ɫ��ҹ University Police Services hosted its first-ever Coffee With a Cop event in the Nest in the Kent Student Center on Sept. 14. Students who attended the event had the opportunity to interact with ��ɫ��ҹ police officers in a casual setting and receive free coffee, and the first 200 students who attended also received a free travel mug.

��ɫ��ҹ’s Parking Services Launches New Parking App

��ɫ��ҹ University’s Parking and Transit Services is piloting a parking app this fall for commuter lots. When the app is fully operational, it will allow users to determine if a parking lot is full or has vacant spaces. As part of the pilot program, the commuter lot behind Verder Hall will be the first to use the technology.

2024-2025 December/January Holiday Schedule

��ɫ��ҹ University's holiday closure for 2024 will begin Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. All offices will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Employees not eligible for the paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments and employees in a lay-off status. More information on the holiday schedule, including how employees should report time during that period, will be available later this month.
