New Partnership Between Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ and Bio-Med Science Academy STEM School to Bring Elementary Education Back to University’s Schwartz Center

Beginning fall 2027, Bio-Med Science Academy will relocate its grades K-6 programs to Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University’s Schwartz Center. The Schwartz Center, which opened in 1956 as the home of the Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University School, a laboratory school that served generations of student teachers, will return to its original purpose as a school building.

The "Flash Fiction" panel at Akron ComicCon

Taking Their Stories From Concept to ComicCon

Last summer, 12 Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ students in the university's Visual Communication Design program worked with Route Eight Studios to learn about the real-world challenges artists face in creating comic books. "Flash Fiction" is the result - an anthology of stories written and illustrated by students creators.

How One Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Student Turned Pain Into Pride

When Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University senior Julia Michalak was in elementary school and middle school in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, the idea of going to gym class made her sick to her stomach. Now in her final year at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹, Michalak will soon earn her bachelor’s degree in physical education and sport performance, with a goal to help other kids like her overcome their insecurities and learn to enjoy physical education.
