Beverly Guy-Sheftall Keynotes Women’s History Month
To celebrate Women’s History Month and to honor Black History Month, Á½ÐÔÉ«Îçҹ’s Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, in collaboration with Black United Students and the Department of Africana Studies, invites you to attend a virtual conversation Thursday, March 17, with Beverly Guy-Sheftall esteemed author, founding director of the Women’s Research and Resource Center and Anna Julia Cooper Professor of Women’s Studies at Spelman College.

Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Receives Military Friendly School Honor for 13th Year in a Row
Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University continues to exemplify leadership in its mission to support students as the Kent Campus is designated as a Military Friendly® School for the 13th consecutive year in a row, earning a Gold award. In addition, Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University at Trumbull earned a Silver award.

Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Board of Trustees Approves Establishing New Bachelor of Social Work Degree
The Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the Bachelor of Social Work degree during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held March 8. The new degree was developed based on the high demand for licensed social workers within the areas surrounding Á½ÐÔÉ«Îçҹ’s Regional Campuses.

Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University President Todd Diacon updated the university community on recent actions regarding the appointment of Sean Broghammer, Ph.D., as Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University’s new vice president for enrollment management.

Earl K. Miller, Ph.D., and Marlene M. Wicherski Pledge $2 Million to Support Brain Health Research at Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹
Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University alumnus Earl K. Miller, Ph.D., and his wife, Marlene M. Wicherski, have pledged $2 million to support research programs and students in Á½ÐÔÉ«Îçҹ’s Brain Health Research Institute. The Brain Health Research Institute is a recently established, cross-disciplinary institute that focuses on research and education of brain health across the lifespan.

PNC Foundation Awards $75,000 to Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹
The PNC Foundation has awarded $75,000 to Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University to help ensure success among students who commonly face barriers in college. This grant aligns with PNC’s focus on addressing economic inequality among Black American and low- to moderate-income communities, and it will provide resources for students that will help them complete college and establish a strong foundation on which to build their careers.

Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ Wins Award for Excellence in Integrating International Education Throughout University
Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University is the sole university in the U.S. to receive the prestigious 2022 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization from NAFSA: Association of International Educators. The honor recognizes Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ for overall excellence in integrating international education throughout all facets of the university and its campuses.

Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ and Cleveland State Partner to Shorten Time Students Need for Bachelor’s, Law Degrees
Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ University has established a new partnership with Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law to offer students two pathways to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Á½ÐÔÉ«ÎçÒ¹ and a law degree from CSU in six years. The new 3+3 program will shorten the length of time typically needed to complete both degrees.
