More than 20,000 people applied to be part of ����ɫ��ҹ’s Class of 2023, and 4,270 can now consider themselves to be Golden Flashes.

When ����ɫ��ҹ University alumnus Eric Meek is not working in a glass art studio, one may find him on the small screen sharing his expertise in the new Netflix series called “Blown Away.”

On Saturday, Sept. 21, the ����ɫ��ҹ University fight song blared down Main Street, the city of Kent was flooded with blue and gold, alumni and friends gathered and reminisced about their ����ɫ��ҹ days, fans packed the stadium to cheer on their beloved Golden Flashes and the entire campus boomed with ����ɫ��ҹ pride.

On the morning of May 4, 1970, ����ɫ��ҹ University student Howard Ruffner was hanging out in the office of the Daily ����ɫ��ҹr in Taylor Hall when the phone rang.

The Midwest editor from Life magazine, based in Chicago, was calling to find out if there were any student photographers who had been taking photos over the weekend. ����ɫ��ҹ had been the scene of student protests for several days, and more demonstrations were expected that day.  

����ɫ��ҹ University’s nationally ranked Flight Technology program, in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering, is one of only three nationwide that Delta Air Lines selected this year to become a Delta Propel Partner, a program that creates career opportunities for students studying to be future commercial pilots.

Cross-departmental collaborations are what Michael Lehman, the inaugural director of ����ɫ��ҹ University’s Brain Health Research Institute, envisions for the future. ����ɫ��ҹ University jazz ensembles instructor, Christopher J. Coles aspires to evoke emotions and conversations surrounding topics like social injustice and race through the display. “Nine Lives Project” has been viewed at workshops throughout Cleveland, Canada, and most recently broadcast in a Shuffle session with WKSU.
